Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Posed and Rigged People?

Our Posed People are static human 3D scans, which capture one specific natural pose and preferably can be used to enrich photorealistic 3D environments, which will be rendered as still images. The Posed People of course can be scaled, rotated and translated in place, but they will never move like human beings. Please click here for more information on Posed People.

In contrast the Rigged People are able of being moved in a natural way. So every single body part either can be adjusted to fit a desired pose or can be animated frame by frame to create stunning lifelike animations. Of course, it is also possible to transfer motion capture data onto our Rigged People, which makes them the perfect choice for using them in 3D rendered videos of any kind or even games and VR applications. Please click here for more information on Rigged People.

What are the benefits of using Renderpeople products?

Using Renderpeople products enables you to take advantage of the benefits of human 3D models without losing the brilliance of 2D cut-out people. They fit into every 3D lighting situation, are visible in reflections and throw realistic shadows. Moreover, you can place them anywhere in your 3D environment without worrying about scale and perspective. You won’t have any of those advantaged with 2D cut-out people.

Do you offer customized 3D people?

Yes, we do. Please contact us in order to get your personal quote. We will try our best to fit our products to your individual needs.

Can I print the 3D models?

Yes, in general you can print our Posed People. However, due to the highly detailed structure of our models we cannot guarantee that every 3D printer or material will print the models properly.

My 3D scene is very slow due to the 8K high-resolution textures. What can I do?

Indeed, huge amounts of high-res textures can clutter your system’s memory and thereby slow down your performance intensively. Therefore, we provide a 3ds Max plug-in for resizing textures. You can download it here for free.

What am I allowed to do with the Renderpeople products?

The licensing for our Renderpeople products includes that customers are allowed to use the data for rendering still images and animations for commercial or private purposes, such as video production, broadcasting, print, movies, advertising, illustrations and presentations.

Customers are not allowed to make the 3D data available to third parties in such a way that the 3D data can be downloaded, extracted, distributed or accessed by third parties as single files. What is the Renderpeople Resizer plug-in?

High-resolution textures, e.g. the 8K textures that we hand out with our Renderpeople 3D models, give a huge advantage in terms of quality and sharpness. However, you do not always need such high resolutions for objects in the middle- or background of your 3D scenes. The Renderpeople Resizer plug-in can resize and relink hundreds of textures in your 3D scene within only a couple of seconds and with only a few mouse clicks.

Is the plug-in really free to use?

Yes, the Renderpeople Resizer plug-in is free to download and to use for everybody.

Does the Resizer plug-in only work with Renderpeople products?

No, the Resizer plug-in can resize textures connected to any 3D objects in your scene, regardless of whether they are Renderpeople products or not.

Will there also be a plug-in for Cinema 4D or other 3D applications?

We always try to improve our service and the quality of our products. So please feel free to send us your feedback on the plug-in via mail at info@renderpeople.com. Of course, we will think about providing the plug-in for other 3D applications, if there is enough positive feedback. Right now, only a 3ds Max version is available.

How do I install or use the plug-in?

Please have a look at the official plug-in’s user manual. You can download it right here.
